Covid-19 and Real Estate

When the pandemic first started there was some uncertainty in the Kelowna real estate market, but it quickly became very evident that people still needed to move. The need to buy and sell homes was still present.  Because of this, real estate was declared an Essential Service by the provincial government of British Columbia.

I'm very happy that our industry was able to pivot and continue working throughout the global pandemic. Personally, I have opted to use technology to my advantage and I provide virtual showings to my clients using FaceTime and sharing video walkthroughs of a property. This is a great option if Buyers or Sellers are immune compromised and want to limit showings by previewing properties virtually before they commit to an in person showing. It has also proven invaluable to my out of town clients, many of whom have purchased and sold properties while out of province (and even out of country!)

If you are wanting to purchase or sell a property but you're worried about the risks, please feel free to reach out and I would be happy to walk you through the different options that are available.

At Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty, our mission statement is simple: Help People. In consideration of social distancing and all of the paperwork that's required to complete a real estate transaction, it's essential that entire transactions can be completed electronically. That's why our brokerage has worked tirelessly to ensure that every home buying or selling transaction can be completed in an entirely touchless manner.

I have also created a comprehensive marketing plan that includes virtual tours to highlight the best qualities of your home, while minimizing contact. And when in-home showings are required, I always follow the standardized procedures as set out by the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA).

For more information on my marketing plan, you can view the Seller Info tab here. I've also covered some common Buyer and Seller questions and concerns in several of my blog posts to keep you safe and informed.

In addition, you can view the most current information issued by our licensing body, the BCFS here to see what additional precautions we are taking as an industry. This information is routinely reviewed and updated to ensure that we are all protected and that real estate services can continue in a safe and effective manner.

I will continue to update my website to make sure that I'm always providing you with the most current information available.
